Ahi Tuna Poke

    Yesterday I had such a craving for fish; so I went to Costco and there they had wild caught fresh tuna. Yay! So I decided to make a ahi tuna salad. It is so quick and easy and tastes amazing! Wild caught tuna can be pricey, but all the other ingredients are cheap so all in all this is not an expensive dinner or lunch. If you are trying to eat healthy this is the perfect meal for you!

    Raw Ahi Tuna


    Ingredients
    Ahi Tuna, 2 Filets (sashimi grade)
    1/2 Yellow Onion, chopped
    2 Cloves of fresh Garlic
    1/2 Cup Organic Soy Sauce or Tamari (Gluten Free & Organic Option)
    Sriracha, to taste
    1 tbs Sesame oil
    1 tbs Rice Vinegar
    2 tbs Fresh Ginger, chopped
    2 Scallions, chopped
    Black Sesame Seeds, to garnish
    2 Small Carrots, chopped julienne style 1 Avocado, thin slices for garnish

    Directions
    1. Rinse your tuna and pat them dry. Cut the tuna into cubes and remove all fatty and stingy parts.
    2.Place your fish in a bowl with the chopped onion and garlic.
    3. Get a small bowl and add sesame oil, Tamari, sriracha, rice vinegar, ginger and scallions. Mix it together. Taste it and if you are happy with it pour it over the fish. You can serve it immidiatly or put in fridge and let it marinate for a few hours.
    4. When you are ready to serve, lay the carrots on the bottom, add the tuna and place the avocado on top. Lastly, garnish with sesame seeds and voila!
